BOUDOIR PREP GUIDE

GIRL. YOU’RE AMAZING.

Boudoir photography is about celebrating you—your confidence, your body, your personality, and the way you feel in your own skin.

1. A Few Days Before

Hydrate

Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session. Staying hydrated can help you feel your best and keep your skin looking fresh.

Moisturize

Keep your skin moisturized, especially your legs, arms, hands, elbows, and feet. Avoid trying a brand-new skincare product right before your session.

Avoid New Treatments

Skip anything that could irritate your skin, such as:

  • New facials or peels

  • Aggressive exfoliation

  • Spray tans you haven't tried before

  • New waxing or hair-removal products

If you normally wax, schedule it a few days before your session rather than the day before.

2. The Day Before

Plan Your Outfits

Bring 2–4 outfits with different styles and textures.

Great options include:

  • Classic black bra and underwear

  • Lingerie sets

  • Bodysuits

  • Oversized shirts or sweaters

  • Robes

  • Your partner's shirt/uniform

  • Anything that makes you feel incredible

You don't need to bring only lingerie. Some of the most beautiful images can come from simple pieces that you’re the most confident in. Can’t decide? Bring more options and I can help narrow them down with you!

Pack the Details

Consider bringing:

  • Heels

  • Jewelry

  • Nylons

  • Personal accessories

  • Anything meaningful you'd like incorporated

Nails

Neutral, clean nails are always a great choice, but choose whatever makes you feel like yourself.

Don't forget your toes if you plan on having barefoot or open-toe images.

3. What to Wear to the Studio

Wear loose-fitting clothing whenever possible.

Avoid tight socks, leggings, jeans, bras, or underwear that could leave marks on your skin.

A loose button-down shirt, zip up sweatshirt, sweatpants, or oversized sweater is perfect.

If possible, avoid anything that will leave deep lines on your skin for several hours before your session.

4. What NOT to Stress About

You don't need to:

  • Lose weight before your session

  • Have perfect skin

  • Know how to pose

  • Have a certain body type

  • Bring expensive lingerie

  • Look like a professional model

Your session isn't about being perfect.

It's about creating photographs that make you feel confident, beautiful, powerful, and completely yourself.
